University鈥檚 Fall Career Expo Draws More Than 1,000 Students
Hosted by the University鈥檚 Career Development Center, the career fair offered students in all programs of study myriad opportunities to connect with nearly 100 employers.

More than 1,000 students attended the career fair.
This semester, Jacey Ferraro 鈥23, a graphic design major, is taking a class that focuses on creating a portfolio. The course, during which she and her classmates are also working on cover letters, prepares students for their job searches.
Ferraro took the opportunity to explore some potential career opportunities, connecting with potential employers at the University鈥檚 fall career expo. She was impressed by what she found, both in the many employers represented at the event and in the interest from her fellow students.
鈥淭here were a few interesting employers I spoke with,鈥 said Ferraro. 鈥淪o far, the companies in the entertainment industry were especially intriguing. It is incredible how many people are here and how many students showed up. It鈥檚 not always easy to find a job on you own, and the fact that so many people are here is great.鈥
Ferraro was among the more than 1,000 students who stopped by the career fair. It drew undergraduate and graduate students of all majors and programs of study who met with employers and learned more about the many job and internship opportunities available.
鈥淭he fall career fair was a big success,鈥 said Matt Caporale, executive director of the University鈥檚 Career Development Center. 鈥淚t was amazing to see such a large student turnout to meet with our employer partners for internship and job opportunities. It is important for our students to take advantage of these networking and career connection opportunities, and they turned out at the career fair.鈥

鈥極ur employers were impressed鈥
When Vincent Tremulot 鈥25 heard about the career fair, he was curious. Interested in learning more about the opportunities available, he stopped by. He was impressed by what he found.
鈥淚 saw some great companies and I found lots of opportunities, said Tremulot, a business management major. 鈥淭here was a lot of interest, and I found so many opportunities in my field.鈥

鈥淲e are so appreciative of our employer partners for their time, energy, and interest in our students,鈥 said Caporale. 鈥淎V天堂网 prides itself on preparing students for career success, and our employers were impressed by the quality, experience, and motivation of our students. It was also great to see so many alumni there representing their organizations and connecting with current Chargers.鈥

鈥楽omething for everyone鈥
Employers say they were impressed by the turnout at the career fair. They had the opportunity to connect with dozens of students, and they appreciated the students鈥 interest.
We鈥檝e done a few career fairs, and at this one, more than others, we鈥檝e noticed the enthusiasm of the students,鈥 said Ryan Osak, a project engineer for . 鈥淲e also appreciate the diversity we鈥檝e seen in the students.鈥
鈥淚 love seeing the students鈥 enthusiasm,鈥 added DJ Gray, a superintendent at the company. 鈥淭hey have a lot to offer. Halfway through the career fair, we鈥檇 already connected with more than 40 students and received more than 100 applications. It was a great turnout.鈥
Shilpa Parimi 鈥23 M.S. was among the students applying, and she was grateful to connect with so many potential employers. She immediately found half a dozen employers in her field that interested her and that she was able to connect with.
鈥淚t鈥檚 great because there are so many opportunities, and something for everyone,鈥 said Parimi, a candidate in the University鈥檚 graduate program in computer science. 鈥淚鈥檓 glad so many of these employers are here.鈥
